Libby...Libby...Libby on the label...label...label

I suppose none of you are old enough to remember that little jingle? Libby's juice? Just remember, respect your elders!!

She sure is a beauty! Life in Alexandria must be good. Her owner said when he threw the bumper out into the lake the wind took it too far out. He went to swim it down (he must be part retriever too) but Libby wasn't happy staying on the beach. She swam out too, getting in the way. She thought that was great. They lost the bumper but still have a happy Chocolate girl.

Doesn't she look like her mommy??

Happy 4th of July

This is directly from an email by Axel's mom:

"Your grandson is famous!! We went to the St. Peter parade with Axel in tow. Al Franken was walking with the Tim Walz campaign, and spotted our young pup. He walked right up and said "What a beautiful dog." Then he got right down and gave Axel a big smooch, and Axel smooched back Franken said "Axel is just about the cutest thing he'd ever seen." Lizzy would be so proud:) Our little fur ball, kissed by a future US Senator--or at a minimum a cast member of Saturday Night Live. Mike says Axel is good enough, smart enough, and people like him."

Unfortunately no photos of this event.

**************** SCOUT ****************
I also heard that Scout (the pup formerly known as Fanny) had a great 4th. She basically slept while her yellow lab sister went crazy. Scout weighed in at 43# yesterday when she was spayed. She loves the water and playing with "Maggie," her yellow sister.

Lucy pix...and Axel update

Lucy and her friend Tristan spend a fun filled, hot afternoon playing in the pool. After getting over her fear that it was bath-time, Lucy had as much fun as Tristan did.

Sissy, the cat, is the most frequent victim of Lucy's sneak attacks from on top of the bench.

An update on Axel: Axel was the recipient of a sympathy card from his friend, Rocky, the weinerdog, after his recent neutering surgery. I'd guess Axel is one of the biggest pups so far, he weighed in at 51.6 pounds...at a mere 5 months of age. By the way, have you all read the book Marley and Me yet???
